Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage daily transport plans, including routing and scheduling, effectively and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor vehicle movements using TMS and GPS systems.
  • Resolve transport-related issues such as delays or route changes.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport activities and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Tasks

  • Create and issue driver manifests and delivery schedules.
  • Allocate vehicles and drivers based on load requirements and availability.
  • Input and update transport data in TMS, including ensuring that all assets are available to be maintained, serviced in line with the Maintenance and repair schedule.
  • Track and report on delivery progress and exceptions.
  • Liaise with hauliers and third-party logistics providers when required.
  • Analyse transport data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in planning for seasonal peaks and special projects.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of road networks, traffic conditions, and legal restrictions.
  • Support the implementation of new transport technologies and systems.
  • Brief drivers on next day's work and ensure all work is sent to their tablets.
