Fintech industry, Full-time, Edinburgh UK, 4 days per week on-site, one remote.

Role Responsibility

  • You will have complete ownership of ensuring that changes are fully completed and any affected services are restored.
  • You will identify process improvements for change implementation and weekend checkouts; aid in incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Provide ongoing operational support for the Aladdin infrastructure, supporting and fixing both batch processing and interactive user applications to ensure the high availability of the Aladdin Environment.
  • Use various tools to conduct analysis on system performance, root cause diagnostics, and systems'/applications' design to understand and improve the operating quality of production environments.
  • Engage in clear and concise communications both verbally and in writing. Effectively interact on incident bridges and calls to ensure all distributed team members are constantly informed.
  • Engineer solutions to expedite recovery of environment post weekend maintenances.
  • Using ServiceNow for Incident and Problem management.
  • Weekend Shift Work: You might be required to work on the weekend shifts on a rotational basis.
  • Stakeholder management, IM and PM experience.

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree specializing in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
  • Exposure to (or strong interest in) 3-5 years of experience in a Production Support role.
  • Experience with Linux system support.
  • Good understanding of Linux administration fundamentals; must be familiar with typical administrative commands.
  • Prior experience with Incident management and Problem management.
  • Prior system administration experience is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of the following programming languages to identify Error Codes and provide support, pass on the incident to the right team.
  • Candidates must have a strong interest and skills for quickly learning new technologies and proprietary systems.
  • Possess a positive demeanor and ability to work as a teammate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Build opportunities to integrate and automate operational processes, procedures, and tooling.
  • Experience in working with Cloud Native Platforms e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP etc.
  • Keen interest and willingness to learn any of these technologies: Ansible, Chef, AWX (front end of Ansible), Service.
