Quality Support Technician
Department: Quality
Reporting to: QHSE Manager
We are looking for an experienced Quality Support Technician to join our Quality team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out first-off, patrol, and final inspections of engineered components, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, technical drawings, and AS9100 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first-off, patrol, and final inspections of machined components.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIRs) and support Inspection Test Plans.
- Operate and programme CMM equipment.
- Review production documentation and verify compliance with drawing requirements.
- Raise and investigate non-conformances, supporting corrective actions.
- Support production teams in resolving quality issues.
- Provide calibration support and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- Experience in production inspection within a machine shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
- Competent using handheld measuring equipment and CMM machines.
- Understanding of non-conformance processes and quality documentation.
- Aerospace and/or nuclear industry experience desirable.
- Apprentice trained with City & Guilds or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with FAIR software and CMM programming (Aberlink, QCT, or Mitutoyo preferred).
