Our client is a leading precision engineering business and manufacturing partner to global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Support Technician to join their Quality team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out first-off, patrol, and final inspections of precision-engineered components, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and AS9100 quality standards.

Main Skills

  • Perform first-off, patrol, and final inspections of machined components.
  • Conduct First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and support Inspection Test Plans.
  • Operate and programme Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Review production documentation and verify conformity against engineering drawings and customer requirements.
  • Raise, investigate, and support the resolution of non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Provide calibration support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and internal quality procedures.

We are looking for

  • Previous experience in a production inspection role within a precision engineering or machine shop environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
  • Competent in the use of handheld measuring equipment and CMM inspection systems.
  • Good understanding of non-conformance processes, quality documentation, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience within aerospace, nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated engineering sectors is advantageous.
  • Apprentice trained with a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Experience with FAIR software and CMM programming, ideally using Aberlink, QCT, or Mitutoyo systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive and quality-focused approach.
