We are looking for an experienced Lead Solution Architect with a strong background in PLM and Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE to lead the architecture, implementation and continuous evolution of a large-scale PLM environment. This is a senior role requiring someone who can operate across solution architecture, data, integrations, engineering processes and digital transformation, working closely with internal stakeholders, delivery teams and technology partners.
3D CAD, PLM and Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE experience is non-negotiable for this position. Candidates without significant hands-on experience across these areas will not be considered. Experience within the automotive sector is highly desirable, particularly where candidates have worked across complex engineering, manufacturing or product development environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the solution architecture and delivery of new capabilities across a large-scale PLM / 3DEXPERIENCE platform, ensuring solutions align with business and programme objectives.
- Own key architectural decisions across platform configuration, integrations, data structures and migration, ensuring solutions remain scalable, maintainable and upgrade-safe.
- Lead the migration of engineering and product data from legacy platforms into the PLM environment, maintaining data quality, governance and traceability.
- Establish and govern the digital thread, information architecture and integration strategy, connecting PLM with systems such as ERP, CAD and downstream enterprise platforms.
- Provide technical leadership across internal teams, delivery partners and suppliers, ensuring architectural standards, governance and delivery methodologies are consistently applied.
- Shape and maintain the long-term PLM technology roadmap, balancing immediate programme requirements with wider digital transformation and enterprise architecture objectives.
Key Skills/Experience
- Essential: Significant commercial experience with Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE and enterprise PLM platforms, including solution architecture and implementation.
- Essential: Strong understanding of 3D CAD environments, particularly CATIA and how CAD, PLM and engineering data interact throughout the product lifecycle.
- Extensive knowledge of PLM architecture, configuration, data migration, lifecycle management, change control and BOM structures, including EBOM, MBOM, BOP and related engineering structures.
- Strong integration experience across enterprise systems with exposure to ERP/SAP, digital thread, interoperability, APIs/open standards and complex system-of-systems environments.
- Experience working within cloud/SaaS environments, alongside knowledge of secure-by-design, cybersecurity, DevSecOps and service transition principles.
- Excellent stakeholder leadership and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical solutions and influence engineering, programme, supplier and senior business stakeholders.
