We are looking for a Health & Safety Officer to support our H&S Manager in ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, and best practices across our operations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assisting managers in developing and maintaining operational risk assessments.
- Creating and updating safe working procedures in line with company and legal standards.
- Conducting regular site inspections and audits, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Keeping teams informed on H&S legislation updates and best practices.
- Investigating incidents and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
- Providing expert advice on fire safety, first aid, manual handling, and more.
- Delivering engaging H&S training sessions for staff.
- Carrying out COSHH assessments and ensuring compliance with control measures.
- Supporting directors and managers with professional H&S guidance.
- Ensuring all necessary health surveillance is completed and recorded accurately.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Skills & Qualities:
- Strong organisational skills – ability to multitask and prioritise.
- Excellent communication – capable of training staff and leading meetings.
- A team player with a passion for driving H&S standards.
- IT literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety role.
- Relevant H&S qualification (NVQ Level 3 / NEBOSH General Certificate).
- Experience with ISO 45001 standards.
- Membership of IOSH or a similar institution.
