We are hiring a Mid-Senior AWS Engineer to play a critical role in our client's product roadmap. This is a fully backend-focused position dedicated to rebuilding a core platform with scalability, performance and clean architecture at its heart. You’ll work closely with the Head of Engineering and be trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas and help shape how the platform is built from day one. This is a key hire for the business which will help them progress as an organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing and building backend services for a new platform
- Developing serverless solutions using AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Working with architects to ensure best-practice system design
- Ensuring services are scalable, secure and production-ready
- Collaborating closely with engineering leadership on how the platform fits together end-to-end
- Taking ownership and proactively contributing ideas
Tech Stack & Experience Required:
Essential:
- Strong experience with AWS particularly serverless architectures
- Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and DynamoDB
- Proven use of Terraform (or strong IaC experience)
- Solid backend engineering experience
- Strong understanding of databases and data modelling
- Ability to work independently and pick things up quickly
Nice to Have:
- Experience rebuilding or modernising legacy systems
- Exposure to DevOps practices and cloud architecture decisions
