To accurately receive, prepare, pour, trim, and manage dental impressions and models, ensuring high-quality work and smooth workflow between departments within the dental laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and log incoming dental impressions and prescriptions
- Inspect impressions for accuracy and report any issues to the relevant department
- Pour impressions using appropriate dental stone or plaster
- Trim, base, and label dental models to laboratory standards
- Articulate models when required
- Prepare models for Crown & Bridge, Prosthetics, Orthodontics, or CAD/CAM departments
- Verification of jigs, special trays, bite blocks
- Putty’s and Execlear
- Whitening trays, mouth guards, etc
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the plaster room
- Disinfect impressions and models according to infection control protocols
- Ensure correct identification and tracking of cases throughout the lab
- Manage plaster room materials and report low stock levels
- Dispose of waste materials safely and in line with lab procedures
- Adhere to laboratory quality standards, health & safety, and infection control policies
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and laboratory procedures
- Basic understanding of dental anatomy and materials (preferred)
- Good time management and ability to work to deadlines
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Ability to maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Lab tracer software skills
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental laboratory or plaster room (preferred but not essential)
- Dental technology qualification or relevant training (advantageous)
- Willingness to learn and develop within the laboratory
