Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:00AM to 4:30PM) with on call minimum 1 week in 3 dependent on staffing numbers
Ready to power up your career? We’re looking for an experienced, passionate, and proactive Electrician to join our mission-critical team operating across RAF Fairford and RAF Welford.
About the role: As a key member of the electrical team working in a team of 3 on site, you’ll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensuring all relevant documentation is completed to a high standard. You’ll lead fixed wire testing, including five-year inspections, and deliver compliance testing in line with JSP375 standards. Your role will also involve responding to emergency callouts on critical systems, performing minor installations and repair work across domestic and commercial buildings; including offices, airplane hangars, airfields and domestic dwellings. Throughout this you will maintain excellent communication with clients and building facilities managers on-site.
You’ll play a vital part in our out-of-hours callout rota and will use pool vehicles to access both RAF Fairford and RAF Welford. Representing the company on the front line, your communication skills and professionalism will reflect VIVO’s values and commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
What you’ll need; To succeed in this role, you’ll need to hold City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification. City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection) is also essential. Strong experience in electrical maintenance and repair in a commercial and domestic backgrounds is a must, and any prior Authorised Person or Authorising Engineer experience is a bonus. Most importantly, you’ll be a problem-solver, a team player, and someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment. It is also desirable that you have COMPEX or ATEX qualifications, though there will be opportunities to undertake this course for a successful candidate.
You’ll need to be mobile across RAF Fairford and RAF Welford, so a full UK driving licence is essential. You must be able to pass SC Clearance to be eligible for this role.
