Permanent, Full time
Salary: £48,000-£51,000
Role overview We are seeking an experienced and proactive Built Estate Manager to lead the delivery of maintenance, compliance and estate management services across a busy and operationally critical site. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring all planned, reactive and minor project works are delivered safely, compliantly and on time, while meeting contractual performance targets and customer expectations.
You will oversee day-to-day estate operations, prioritising business needs and ensuring services are delivered in line with statutory legislation, MoD requirements and company standards. You will manage supply chain partners and site teams to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. This includes monitoring performance, value for money and service delivery through regular reviews and meetings, while ensuring suitably qualified personnel, equipment and resources are available.
The role requires strong oversight of health, safety and compliance processes. You will review risk assessments, method statements and permits to work, support the implementation of JSP 375 safe systems of work, and ensure compliance with asbestos, legionella and temporary works responsibilities where required.
You will maintain accurate records through Maximo and associated systems, ensuring tasks, inspections, assurance checks and asset information are completed and recorded correctly. You will also oversee forward maintenance plans, data returns, reports and site assurance activities including audits, joint inspections and corrective action close-out.
As Built Estate Manager, you will provide technical leadership and practical support to internal teams, supply chain partners, DIO representatives and end users. You will manage small project works, coordinate third-party contractors and help develop Billable Works submissions to meet evolving customer requirements. You will also lead local teams, supporting Service Managers and site personnel to achieve KPIs, improve performance and maintain a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities include coaching, supervision, HR processes, training plans and ensuring all personnel are inducted, security cleared and compliant with site procedures. Commercially, you will manage local budgets, monitor profit and loss performance, control costs and support forecasting and estate planning activities. You will work closely with stakeholders to manage risks, drive efficiency and ensure value for money.
About You To be successful, you will have strong experience managing operational teams within construction, facilities management, property maintenance or a similar environment. You will understand safe systems of work, contractor management, compliance obligations and performance management within a live estate environment. A qualification in Construction, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience, is required. Experience within MOD or secure environments, along with knowledge of CDM, asbestos, sustainability and statutory compliance, would be highly desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident operational leader to manage a key estate, drive high standards of service delivery and play a central role in supporting a complex client environment. Participation in the on-call escalation rota is required. The ability to obtain and maintain SC Clearance will be a condition of your employment.
What We Offer:
- 6% employee matched pension contribution
- 25 days annual leave
- Life assurance 2x annual salary
- 1x professional subscription per year
