At VIVO Defence Services, we know that great project managers aren\’t always born with years of experience-they\’re developed through opportunity, mentoring, and a supportive environment where learning is part of the journey. That\’s exactly what this role offers.
The Role
As an Associate Project Manager, you\’ll be at the start of an exciting career path where you\’ll learn how to deliver meaningful projects from concept to completion. Whether you\’re just beginning your career or looking to change direction, this role is designed to give you the foundation, training, and real-world experience to grow into a confident and capable Project Manager.
You\’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers, gaining hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle. From analysing scopes of work and identifying risks, to supporting progress reports and carrying out site inspections, you\’ll learn how projects are built, managed, and delivered to high standards. At first, you\’ll provide essential project support, but as your confidence grows, you\’ll take direct ownership of smaller projects-developing the skills needed to lead larger, more complex works in the future.
This role will also give you direct contact with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, helping you build professional communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills. You\’ll develop problem-solving confidence and learn how to balance priorities in a fast-moving environment.
Most importantly, you\’ll be part of a supportive team who will encourage and mentor you while you gain recognised qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APMP. We\’ll invest in your professional development and give you the tools to progress into more senior project management roles.
What You\’ll Bring
We\’re looking for people who are curious and eager to learn, organised, adaptable, and able to prioritise, as well as confident communicators with good IT skills.
You should be interested in how projects are delivered in construction, facilities management, or related fields and ready to bring transferable skills from these industries.
You must have a driving licence and acess to your own transport as this role will involve travel to sites throughout the Region, and SC Clearance will be a condition of your employment.
This is more than just a job-it\’s the first step in a long-term career journey. Project management is a skill set that opens doors across industries, and by joining VIVO Defence Services, you\’ll be gaining experience in a unique and rewarding sector where your work has a direct impact on communities and the built environment.
If you\’re ambitious, motivated, and ready to take ownership of your future, this role is the perfect opportunity to grow into the Project Manager you aspire to be.
