Salary: Up to £24,000

About The Role: We're looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Void Maintenance Officer to manage and protect unoccupied Service Family Accommodation (SFA). In this mobile role, you’ll ensure empty properties remain secure, compliant and in excellent condition, ready for the next family who needs them. You’ll work independently with support from the Delivery Manager, carrying out regular inspections, managing reactive maintenance needs and providing essential reports that keep our operations running smoothly. This is a role for someone who thrives on autonomy, responsibility and making a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage all SFA properties within your VOID Maintenance area.
  • Complete detailed site survey reports with photographic records when taking over or handing back a property.
  • Record defects, produce rough scopes of work and identify opportunities to improve maintenance practices for better value and efficiency.
  • Conduct risk assessments, implement security measures, keep properties weatherproof and notify supervisor of unauthorised access or vandalism.
  • Maintain heating and water systems to prevent deterioration and ensure compliance with statutory and mandatory requirements during the VOID period.
  • Submit regular weekly and monthly reports and pass relevant utilities information to the Utilities team.
  • Notify line manager of status and ensure each home leaves VOID maintenance in no worse condition than when it entered.
  • Lead by example across the VIVO contract, collaborating with colleagues, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), Pinnacle and supply chain partners.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a role where performance is closely measured with a background in service delivery.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently, confident using Microsoft Office, tablets and other digital devices.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in VOID property repairs and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of MOD environments, asbestos regulations, disability access requirements or energy performance standards.

Benefits: A home‑based, mobile role supported by a strong and collaborative team, opportunities for personal and professional growth, and a position that directly supports the wellbeing of military families.

EEO Statement: We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation that supports the needs of all. We will make reasonable adjustments through interview to employment and encourage applications from a diverse candidate pool. We are proudly a Disability Confident Leader; disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at an interview.

The role is with VIVO Defence Services, a joint venture between Serco and EQUANS. Information in your CV may be shared amongst VIVO Defence Services, Serco and EQUANS during the recruitment process.
