Role Overview
We are recruiting an Electrician to undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial properties across RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell in Brandon, Suffolk. These tasks include ensuring electrical systems in commercial and single‑occupancy dormitory buildings are safe and compliant, reacting to call‑ins for minor new works and installations such as plug sockets, emergency light checks and distribution board checks. You will work within a team of eight other electricians and will predominantly work alone, so independence and self‑motivation are essential. You will also participate in an on‑call rota (approximately one week in five) to cover emergency call‑outs during non‑core hours. A work van will be provided for business use and may be privately taxed.
Responsibilities
- Undertake PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial properties.
- Respond to call‑ins for new work and installations (plug sockets, lightning checks, distribution board checks).
- Conduct fixed‑wire inspections in a commercial context.
- Work independently with good communication skills in a customer‑facing role.
