Step into a career that builds more than just facilities. At DST Leconfield, we are offering an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious individual to join us as a Trainee Service Manager within a fast-paced and highly professional military environment. This is not just a job; it is the beginning of a structured and rewarding career in facilities management, where you will gain real responsibility, practical experience, and the support needed to develop into a confident and capable leader.
As an Apprentice Services Manager, you will work alongside experienced professionals who will guide and mentor you every step of the way. From day one, you will be immersed in the day-to-day management of a complex estate, learning how to deliver essential services efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with industry and military standards. You will gain hands-on experience in managing facilities operations, supporting service delivery, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
This role is designed to challenge and develop you. You will build a strong understanding of compliance frameworks such as JSP 375 and learn how planned preventative maintenance is structured using SFG20 standards. You will become confident using CAFM systems like MAXIMO, helping to manage work orders, track assets, and support forward planning. Alongside this, you will take part in the delivery of small-scale projects, gaining valuable insight into project management, legal compliance, and CDM regulations.
Health and safety will be at the heart of everything you do. You will learn how to promote a positive safety culture, working closely with teams and contractors to ensure high standards are consistently met. You will also develop the skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from military personnel to supply chain partners, building relationships and helping to resolve challenges in a professional and effective manner.
We are looking for someone who is genuinely motivated to build a long-term career in facilities management. You will bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a proactive mindset, along with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. You should be comfortable working as part of a team, have a keen eye for detail, and be ready to take on new challenges. A solid foundation in education, including GCSEs in Maths and English, is essential, and further qualifications or relevant experience will help you stand out.
In return, we offer a structured apprenticeship programme that leads to a recognised qualification, supported by experienced mentors who are invested in your success. You will receive hands-on training in industry systems and regulations, a competitive salary and benefits package, and most importantly, a clear pathway for progression into a fully qualified Service Manager role.
If you are ready to start a career where you can learn, grow, and make a real impact in a unique and dynamic environment, this is your opportunity to take that first step.
At VIVO, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation that supports the needs of all. Therefore, we will make reasonable adjustments at interview through to employment for our candidates and strongly encourage applications from a diverse candidate pool. We are open to discussions around flexibility and flexible working and operate a hybrid work structure in many of our business areas. We are proudly a Disability Confident Leader. Disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the job will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at an interview.
