Within VIVO we are currently recruiting for an Electrician to undertake planned preventative maintenance tasks on commercial properties on RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell. Working within a team of 8 other electricians, your primary responsibility will be undertaking PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial and single occupancy dormitory buildings, to ensure that the electrical systems within the properties are safe for continued use and compliant under legislation. You will also be reacting to call ins, which may include tasks such as minor new works and installations, such as plug sockets, undertaking emergency light checks and distribution board checks.
As you will be working in commercial properties, you will be interacting with the occupants day to day, so it is ideal that you have worked in a customer facing role previously. This role will involve participating in an on-call rota to cover emergency call outs during non-core hours. You will also be provided with a work van that can be privately taxed for personal use.
Within this position there will be many opportunities for development, including being put on courses and any other upskilling that will develop your experiences and qualifications.
What You’ll Need To Do This Role:
- It is essential that you hold a City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 in Electrical Installation, and have previously undertaken works in a commercial environment.
- It is highly desirable that you also have experience doing Fixed Wire Inspections in a commercial context.
- You will also need to have passed your C&G 18th edition.
- This role will include travel within multiple locations so you must hold a full, clean UK driving licence. A company van will be provided for business use.
- Although there are 8 electricians on the team, you will predominantly be lone working so you must be independent and self-motivated.
- As this will be a customer facing role, you must have good communication skills.
- It is desirable that you have experience of operating within either an MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment.
- You must be able to pass BPSS Clearance to be considered for this role.
What We Offer:
- Up to 6% contributory pension scheme
- 25 Days annual leave
- Volunteer leave
- One paid professional subscription
- Life Assurance Policy
- Employee discount and reward schemes

Therefore, we will make reasonable adjustments at interview through to employment for our candidates and strongly encourage applications from a diverse candidate pool. We are open to discussions around flexibility and flexible working and operate a hybrid work structure in many of our business areas. We are proudly a Disability Confident Leader. Disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the job will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at an interview.
