The Role
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of maintenance and response works across key MoD sites.
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental, and statutory legislation, and with MoD requirements.
- Monitor and report performance of supply chain teams, maintaining value for money and quality outcomes.
- Review risk assessments, method statements and risk registers; coordinate safe working practices on site.
- Manage Asbestos and Legionella programmes and liaise with Mobile Authorised Persons for work at height and confined spaces.
- Act as the single point of contact for customer issues, building strong relationships with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and site end users.
- Develop new work requirements, resolve complaints and support the helpdesk with technical guidance.
- Provide supervision, coaching and delegation to ensure optimal service levels and a strong safety culture.
- Make cost‑effective decisions that balance stakeholder expectations with value for money, and contribute to forward maintenance planning.
- Analyse data, maintain accurate records and monitor delivery against key milestones, sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum HNC or equivalent qualification in Building, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Management‑level Health & Safety qualification such as SMSTS, or equivalent experience with sufficient technical knowledge to triage maintenance tasks.
- Experience of managing hard‑services FM and delivering performance on defence contracts.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
