Overview of the Quantity Surveyor role at VIVO Defence Services. VIVO provides facilities management and accommodation maintenance for the UK military and its partners. Location: Bristol. Salary: Competitive + Company car/car allowance + Benefits. Hours of work: Monday to Friday, full time, permanent.

VIVO are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to support the Projects Team across the South West region. The role will require you to be on site at MOD Abbey Wood in Bristol regularly, so it is preferred that candidates live within a reasonable commute. This role will see you work on a variety of refurb and new build projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Help to estimate costs, quantities and project timelines.
  • Provide business support to the Projects Team.
  • Facilitate the working relationship between the team and internal and external customers.
  • Ensure the completion of project reports and documentation.
  • Build controls and milestones into plans and programmes.
  • Identify business priorities and opportunities for improvements.
  • Provide cost advice and support to the Billable Works Team.
  • Liaise with the Senior Leadership team to report on progress of projects.
  • Attend Risk Meetings.
  • Ensure compliance across Health and Safety, Sustainability, Quality and other statutory requirements.
  • Support change initiatives and identify alternative solutions.
  • Travel as the business demands across sites in the South West region.
  • Manage a large workload across 3-4 projects at any one time in construction.

This role would suit a competent Assistant QS who is looking for the next step in their career, as well as established QS's. Due to the vetting requirements, candidates must be able to pass SC Clearance and must hold a full UK driving licence.
