Leisure Facilities Assistant – Leigh Academy Snowfields

£10.85 – £12.71 per hour | Zero Hours Contract | Flexible Evening & Weekend Work

About Vivify

Vivify works with schools across the UK to make their sports, leisure and community facilities available outside of school hours.

Our teams help schools make the most of their spaces while giving local people and community groups access to great facilities. Our Community Hosts play a key part in making sure every booking runs smoothly, safely and professionally.

The role

As a Community Host, you’ll be the friendly face of Vivify at the school. You’ll be responsible for preparing the site before bookings, welcoming customers and making sure everything is secure and ready when they leave.

This is a hands-on role where every shift can be a little different. You might be helping a sports group get set up, checking the site is safe, preparing equipment or making sure the building is secure at the end of the evening.

What you'll be doing

  • Welcome customers and hirers when they arrive and provide a friendly, helpful service throughout their visit.
  • Get the facilities ready for bookings, which could include setting up sports equipment, preparing rooms or turning on external lighting.
  • Make sure bookings start on time and customers have everything they need to use the facilities.
  • Carry out regular checks of the building and grounds and report any issues, hazards or damaged equipment through our systems.
  • Keep the areas used by our customers clean and tidy, including simple tasks such as sweeping floors, putting furniture away and storing equipment.
  • Open and close the site, ensuring gates, doors and other access points are properly secured.
  • Follow our health and safety, safeguarding and site security procedures at all times.
  • Communicate professionally with school staff, customers and the wider Vivify team.
  • Use our digital systems to complete required checks and report anything that needs attention.
  • Be prepared to help with other reasonable tasks where needed to support the school, our customers and the smooth running of the site.

What we're looking for

You don't need previous experience in a similar role — we'll provide the training you need. We're looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing good customer service.
  • Is dependable, responsible and comfortable working independently.
  • Can stay organised and respond quickly when something needs attention.
  • Has a practical, hands-on approach and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
  • Communicates clearly and represents Vivify professionally.
  • Is flexible and able to work a mixture of evenings and/or weekends.
  • Takes health, safety and safeguarding seriously.
  • Is keen to learn and develop as part of the Vivify team.

Training and support

You'll receive full training before you begin working independently. This includes an introduction to your school site and facilities, as well as training covering areas such as safeguarding, fire safety, manual handling, health and safety and customer service.

What we offer

  • Staff uniform
  • Employee of the Month recognition and voucher award
  • 24-hour access to our confidential wellbeing programme, including free counselling
  • Free staff parking
  • Staff referral bonus and voucher scheme
  • Training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to grow with a rapidly developing organisation
