However, alongside delivering great service, this role carries significant responsibility. Our Community Hosts are trusted key holders operating in schools outside of normal hours and play a vital role in safeguarding, compliance and site security.

Responsibilities

  • To deliver a world class experience for our hirers, ensuring all customers receive a positive and memorable experience.
  • Assisting hirers with setting up facilities for lettings & other school related events, from setting up a badminton net to switching on the floodlights.
  • Undertake light cleaning duties to ensure that the school's premises are always left as found, from tidying chairs and storing equipment to a quick sweep so as not to create extra work for schools and teachers the next morning.
  • The security and safety of our school is important. The Community Host unlocks the gates and doors, making sure they are locked securely again at the end of the shift.
  • Complete health and safety checks throughout the shift and report any hazards or faulty equipment via our company platform to maintain high standards and keep everyone on site safe.
  • Full training is provided, in person and via our online training system to equip the Community Host with understanding of the role, safeguarding responsibilities, manual handling, fire safety and customer service.
  • The Community Host may be involved in other activities not listed in the responsibilities above to support the school, hirers and the Vivify team.

Contract and pay

  • Pay: £10.85 - £12.71 per hour.
  • Job Type: Zero hours contract.
  • Location: York YO10 4FY (ability to commute required).
