We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Digital Marketing Executive – Japan to join our Digital Marketing team on a full‑time basis for 12 months with the possibility of extending. This role will be based in our Battersea office.
Key Responsibilities- Own and lead the digital marketing and editorial strategy for the Japanese locale, ensuring alignment with overall brand and commercial objectives.
- Lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of all on‑site content including homepage, editorial pages, blogs, and campaign landing pages.
- Ensure all content is culturally relevant, on‑brand, and optimised for performance within the Japanese market.
- Manage end‑to‑end localisation workflows, overseeing adaptation of global campaigns and content for Japan across internal teams, translators, and external partners.
- Drive continuous on‑site optimisation through data‑led insights, improving engagement, conversion, and user experience.
- Own the setup, configuration, and ongoing management of the Japanese CDP ecosystem.
- Lead the development and execution of localised CRM strategies, including email marketing and lifecycle planning.
- Define and manage audience segmentation, personalisation frameworks, and automation flows tailored to the Japanese customer base.
- Analyse campaign performance, extract actionable insights, and continuously optimise CRM activities to improve retention and LTV.
- Own reporting cadence, delivering weekly and monthly performance reports to internal stakeholders and Japanese partners.
- Lead the implementation of analytics frameworks specific to the Japanese market, ensuring alignment with global standards.
- Own KPI setting, dashboard development, and performance tracking across all digital and ecommerce data and channels.
- Ensure data integrity and tracking accuracy, proactively identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or optimisation opportunities.
- Translate data into strategic recommendations to drive growth and efficiency across channels.
- Coordinate the overall SEO strategy for the Japanese market across technical, on‑site, and off‑site initiatives.
- Manage and progress all the Japanese tickets.
- Manage technical SEO requirements in collaboration with the developers.
- Support the overall marketing approach for the Japanese channel, ensuring consistency across all digital touchpoints.
- Own social media strategy and planning for Japan, including content direction, calendar management, and performance optimisation.
- Ensure alignment between social, CRM, paid media, and on‑site content to deliver a cohesive customer journey.
- Work closely with local partners to maximise brand relevance and engagement within the market.
- Maintain and own global reporting frameworks, ensuring all internal reports are accurate, up to date, and actionable.
- Conduct daily monitoring of Google Analytics and other data sources, proactively flagging discrepancies or anomalies.
- Manage smaller APAC market activities, particularly social media planning and coordination.
- Support the global marketing team with ad‑hoc strategic and operational initiatives across channels.
- Contribute to broader digital marketing activities beyond Japan, ensuring alignment with global objectives and best practices.
- Oversee translation quality and consistency across all Japanese content.
- Provide support on operational, logistical, and retail‑related digital initiatives where required.
- Act as a key point of contact across internal teams and external partners, ensuring smooth execution of all digital activities.
- 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, content management, CRM/email marketing, or related roles.
- Native‑level fluency in Japanese and strong communication skills in English.
- Experience managing localized content and marketing campaigns for Japanese audiences.
- Familiarity with CDP tools (preferably Ometria) and email marketing and CRM best practice.
- Familiarity with working with external agencies, partners and developers.
- Strong understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, GA4, or similar).
- Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and experience working with or coordinating with SEO agencies.
- Detail‑oriented, with excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Experience in eCommerce, preferably in a global or cross‑functional team environment.
- Understanding of Japanese consumer behaviour in the digital landscape.
- Knowledge of CMS platforms, ideally Salesforce and localization tools.
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS is a plus.
