The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

This role will cover Hampshire and can be contractually based out of our Portsmouth or Basingstoke office. It is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week. While we’ll try to keep you local, you’ll need to be prepared to travel to and work from other locations in Hampshire and bordering counties. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 20% of the time office-based to promote collaboration and team working.

About the role:

As a Repairs Surveyor you’ll manage and deliver high-quality repairs and minor works across our homes. You’ll undertake property surveys, diagnose building defects, and prepare detailed specifications to ensure repairs comply with legislation and professional standards. You’ll coordinate works between our property service repairs team and external contractors, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. You’ll work closely with our repairs supervisors to support them on a day-to-day basis with technical enquiries as well as managing your own repairs and projects, carrying out pre/post/work-in-progress surveys to determine what repairs and maintenance works are needed. Alongside surveying, you’ll also be responsible for contractor management, including monitoring performance against KPIs, holding regular contract meetings, and ensuring compliance with H&S policies. Ultimately, the Repairs Surveyor plays a vital role in balancing technical expertise, contractor management and customer service to deliver effective property maintenance.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Contract management experience and building pathology/surveying experience, as well as experience producing specifications for works.
  • Excellent technical knowledge, building pathology knowledge and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with contractors and other external stakeholders, and various teams across the business.
  • Relevant technical qualification (building related and/or project manager related) – not essential but preferred.
  • Knowledge of the social housing sector is advantageous, though not required.
  • Confidence using IT and systems, and overall knowledge & experience of providing repairs & maintenance service, including health & safety processes and procedures.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use; business mileage will be paid.
  • Basic DBS check required.
