We’re recruiting for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This full‑time role is based out of our Basingstoke office, covering the Waverley area (Godalming, Farnham, Haslemere). The role can be remote; you’ll be out and about within the community in your designated patch.

About the role:
As a neighbourhood officer you’ll be the main contact for customers within your patch. You’ll handle a range of matters related to tenancy conditions, health and safety, rent/service charges, repairs and more. Your overall aim is to help create attractive, safe and sustainable communities for our customers to live in by ensuring quality, value‑for‑money services. You’ll develop a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and recognise when referrals to the tenancy support team are required.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the go‑to person for customers, addressing enquiries and issues confidently
- Manage challenging customers and neighbour disputes with resilience and assertiveness
- Work face‑to‑face with the general public in a public services environment
- Identify support needs and facilitate referrals to the tenancy support team
- Provide cover or support in other areas when required
- Maintain accurate records and report on service performance
Qualifications and experience:
- Strong customer focus with experience handling challenging interactions
- Demonstrable experience working with the general public face‑to‑face or in a public services environment
- Awareness and understanding of the social housing sector (experience in housing management/law an advantage)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use (business mileage will be paid)
- Satisfactory DBS check required
- Resilience, assertiveness and the ability to work under pressure
