Are you an experienced Business Intelligence Developer looking for your next challenge? If yes, please read on as my client is seeking a highly skilled BI Developer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern data platforms, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Power BI, combined with strong financial domain knowledge in loans and lending. This role requires both technical expertise in building BI solutions and the ability to understand and translate complex financial requirements into meaningful insights for the business.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain BI solutions to support reporting and analytics across the loan/lending lifecycle (origination, servicing, collections, and delinquency).
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks (Delta Lake, Medallion Architecture).
- Design and implement semantic data models that serve as a single source of truth for reporting.
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring accuracy, usability, and performance.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, define, and validate reporting and analytics requirements.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across all data layers.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality BI solutions on time.
- Apply financial knowledge of loan products, repayment schedules, interest calculations, and delinquency metrics to ensure data and reports align with business needs.
- Document solutions, data definitions, and processes for long-term maintainability.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a BI Developer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance tuning, publishing).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
- Experience in financial services with knowledge of loans and lending products (origination, repayment schedules, interest calculations, delinquency tracking).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Strong SQL skills (query optimization, stored procedures, views).
- Ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
