The Opportunity
We are working with an established and growing planning consultancy in York who are looking to appoint an Associate Planner to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional looking to take the next step in their career, taking greater responsibility for projects and client relationships while playing an active role in the continued growth of the wider planning team. The role offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of development projects, providing strategic planning advice and managing projects from inception through to determination.
The Role
- Managing a varied portfolio of planning projects from inception through to completion.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals and other planning submissions.
- Providing high-quality planning advice to private and public-sector clients.
- Preparing Planning Statements, planning appraisals and other supporting documentation.
- Undertaking detailed research into planning policy, legislation and local planning frameworks.
- Liaising confidently with local planning authorities, consultees, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout projects.
- Providing guidance and support to more junior members of the planning team.
- Supporting Directors and senior colleagues on larger and more complex instructions.
- Identifying new opportunities and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
- Attending client, stakeholder and project meetings as required.
