Vivid Resourcing are working with a local authority in the West Midlands with the recruitment of an experienced Trading Standards Officer for an initial 6-month contract.

We are seeking qualified Trading Standards professionals with current competency and practical experience in one or more of the following specialist areas:

  • Product Safety
  • Legal Metrology (Weights & Measures)
  • Feed Hygiene

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and well-established Trading Standards team, supporting regulatory activities.

The Role

You will undertake a varied caseload, carrying out inspections, investigations and advisory work to ensure businesses comply with relevant legislation and standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting inspections of businesses and premises
  • Investigating complaints and potential breaches of Trading Standards legislation.
  • Providing advice and guidance to local businesses.
  • Preparing reports, records and enforcement documentation where required.
  • Supporting regulatory and compliance activities within your area of expertise.

About You

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold a recognised Trading Standards qualification.
  • Demonstrate current competency in at least one of the following areas: Product Safety, Legal Metrology, or Feed Hygiene.
  • Have experience undertaking inspections, investigations and business engagement activities.
  • Possess strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel
