A well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy in the South East is looking to appoint a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner to join its growing team based in Gatwick. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice across a broad range of development sectors. The firm works with a diverse client base including developers, land promoters, property companies, and private clients, and has a strong pipeline of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
The successful candidate will support and manage a variety of planning projects from early-stage site appraisals through to planning applications and appeals. The role offers exposure to a wide range of development projects and the opportunity to work closely with experienced planners in a collaborative environment. For more experienced candidates, there will be opportunities to manage projects, lead client relationships, and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
- Producing planning statements and supporting reports
- Undertaking site appraisals and development feasibility assessments
- Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
- Advising clients on planning strategy and policy
- Supporting project management and delivery across multiple schemes
- Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- MRTPI qualified, or working towards chartership
- Previous experience in a planning consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and policy framework
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
