An established and highly respected planning consultancy is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join its growing Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planning professional to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the residential, commercial, mixed-use, regeneration, and strategic land sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing planning applications, advising clients on planning strategy, and supporting the delivery of complex development projects from inception through to consent.
The Role
- Lead and manage a range of planning projects across multiple sectors.
- Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
- Provide strategic planning advice to private and public sector clients.
- Liaise with local authorities, consultees, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Undertake site appraisals, planning research, and policy reviews.
- Support business development activities and contribute to client relationship management.
- Mentor and support junior members of the planning team.
About You
- MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership with relevant experience).
- Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy framework.
- Experience preparing and managing planning applications and appeals.
- Excellent report-writing, communication, and client-facing skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
