An established and highly respected independent planning consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Town Planner to join its growing team in Derbyshire. The Role

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects from inception through to determination.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and supporting planning statements.
  • Provide strategic planning advice to a wide range of private and public sector clients.
  • Liaise with local authorities, consultees, landowners, and development teams.
  • Undertake site appraisals and planning due diligence exercises.
  • Support business development activities and contribute to client relationship management.
  • Mentor and support junior planning team members where appropriate.

About You

  • The successful candidate will ideally have MRTPI status (or be working towards chartership with relevant experience).
  • Significant experience within either a planning consultancy, local authority, or development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
  • Excellent report-writing, communication, and project management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
