An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planner to join a growing and highly regarded planning consultancy based in Manchester. Our client advises on a wide range of regeneration, commercial and mixed-use developments across the UK, working with developers, investors, landowners and private sector clients on complex and high-profile schemes.
With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth across the business, they are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of an experienced planner who can take ownership of projects and contribute strategically to the wider business.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in delivering planning advice across a broad range of regeneration and commercial projects, managing developments throughout the planning lifecycle from initial strategy through to determination and appeal. This position offers excellent exposure to city centre regeneration, employment-led development, retail, leisure, logistics and mixed-use schemes, alongside the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and clients.
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiries.
- Providing strategic and commercially focused planning advice to clients.
- Carrying out site appraisals, planning assessments and policy reviews.
- Preparing planning statements, appeal documentation and supporting reports.
- Coordinating with local authorities, consultants and wider project teams.
- Managing client relationships and supporting project delivery.
- Supporting junior members of the team where required.
- Contributing to business development activities and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Keeping up to date with planning policy and legislative changes.
Requirements
- MRTPI qualified.
- Previous experience within a consultancy or private sector planning environment.
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system and development management process.
- Experience working on regeneration, commercial or mixed-use developments.
- Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
- Commercial awareness and strong organisational ability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and build strong client relationships.
