Vivid Resourcing are working with a local authority in the West Midlands with the recruitment of an experienced Trading Standards Officer for an initial 6-month contract .
We are seeking qualified Trading Standards professionals with current competency and practical experience in one or more of the following specialist areas:
Product Safety
Legal Metrology (Weights & Measures)
Feed Hygiene
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and well-established Trading Standards team, supporting regulatory activities.
The Role
You will undertake a varied caseload, carrying out inspections, investigations and advisory work to ensure businesses comply with relevant legislation and standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting inspections of businesses and premises
Investigating complaints and potential breaches of Trading Standards legislation.
Providing advice and guidance to local businesses.
Preparing reports, records and enforcement documentation where required.
Supporting regulatory and compliance activities within your area of expertise.
About You
To be considered, you must:
Hold a recognised Trading Standards qualification.
Demonstrate current competency in at least one of the following areas: Product Safety, Legal Metrology, or Feed Hygiene.
Have experience undertaking inspections, investigations and business engagement activities.
Possess strong communication and report-writing skills.
Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel
