We are working with an established transport planning consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Transport Planner to join its London team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced transport planner looking to take the next step in their career, working across a varied portfolio of development-led projects while gaining further responsibility for client management, project delivery and mentoring junior colleagues.

The Role

As a Senior Transport Planner, you will be involved in delivering transport planning advice across a range of development schemes throughout London and the wider South East. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
  • Providing transport planning advice to clients, developers, architects and planning consultants.
  • Undertaking and analysing traffic, parking and transport data.
  • Carrying out trip generation, distribution and traffic impact assessments.
  • Preparing technical reports and supporting planning applications.
  • Liaising with local authorities, TfL and other key stakeholders.
  • Attending client meetings, site visits and planning meetings.
  • Managing projects from inception through to completion.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Assisting with fee proposals, bids and wider business development activities.
  • Working closely with colleagues across transport planning, highways and other disciplines.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • 4+ years' experience within a transport planning consultancy or similar environment.
  • Strong experience delivering development-led transport planning projects.
  • Proven experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
  • Good understanding of transport planning policy at local, regional and national levels.
  • Experience working with London boroughs and/or Transport for London.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Experience using industry-standard transport planning software and tools.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and deliver projects to deadlines.
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients and stakeholders.
  • A willingness to support and develop more junior members of the team.

Chartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageous but is not essential.
