Private Sector Housing Officer
Contract: 6 months
Hours: full-time 3 days on site
Location: Oxfordshire
We are looking for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join my clients team on a flexible, part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong housing enforcement knowledge and a passion for improving housing standards.

Hybrid working: Mix of office, home, and site visits
Role Overview
You will be responsible for delivering housing enforcement services, including:
Investigating complaints and service requests relating to housing conditions
Carrying out inspections under the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS assessments
Preparing and serving statutory notices where required
Managing enforcement actions, including prosecutions and civil penalties
Liaising with landlords, tenants, and partner agencies to resolve housing issues
Supporting initiatives to improve private sector housing standards
Requirements
Proven experience in private sector housing enforcement
Strong knowledge of housing legislation, including Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS
Ability to manage a varied caseload independentlyExcellent communication and negotiation skills
