Full-Time On-site

Location: Surrey, United Kingdom
Contract: Permanent

About the role

Our client is looking for a Junior Land Manager to join their team in Surrey on a permanent basis. The role sits within a land and property management function, supporting the day-to-day administration and management of a portfolio of land and property assets on behalf of clients.

You will work closely with senior colleagues, helping to look after landholdings, tenancies and related client matters. This is a hands-on position that combines time on site with desk-based work, giving you broad exposure to the different areas of land management early in your career.

The successful candidate will be organised, personable and keen to build their technical knowledge. You will be given real responsibility, with the chance to develop your skills across a varied caseload while working towards professional qualifications where relevant.

Main responsibilities

  • Support the management of a portfolio of land and property assets, including regular site visits and inspections
  • Assist with landlord and tenant matters such as lease renewals, rent reviews, licences and wayleaves
  • Help prepare and maintain accurate records, schedules, maps and management reports
  • Liaise with clients, tenants, contractors and local agents, acting as a first point of contact on routine queries
  • Assist with boundary, access and compliance issues, escalating more complex matters to senior colleagues
  • Support applications for land-related grants, schemes and consents where required
  • Contribute to the preparation of valuations, inspections and written advice under supervision
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, market conditions and good practice in land management

Requirements

Essential

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in land management, rural property management, estate management, surveying or a related discipline
  • Some relevant experience in land, estates or property management, whether through a graduate role, placement or similar
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deal with clients and third parties
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Competence with Microsoft Office and an ability to work with mapping and property management systems
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the region

Desirable

  • Progress towards, or a commitment to pursuing, RICS membership (APC)
  • Familiarity with agricultural or rural estate practice

The offer

  • A permanent role based in Surrey
  • A varied portfolio and exposure to a broad range of land management work
  • Support to develop professionally and work towards chartered status where relevant
  • Salary and benefits to be confirmed with candidates

If you are an early-career land management professional looking for a permanent role with real responsibility and room to progress, this could be a strong next step.
