A forward-thinking local authority in the North West is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head its Commercial Property Service.

About the Role

As Head of Property, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team, managing a diverse property portfolio through a Corporate Landlord model. You’ll provide strategic direction, ensure operational excellence, and oversee significant property budgets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the strategic and day-to-day management of the property and assets service.
2. Oversee a broad portfolio including operational, investment, and regeneration assets.
3. Deliver high-quality services aligned with corporate priorities.
4. Integrate and develop a unified, customer-focused team.
5. Act as lead negotiator on complex property transactions.
6. Manage significant budgets, ensuring value for money and compliance.
7. Drive innovation and the use of technology to improve outcomes.
8. Shape and deliver the organisation’s Corporate Property Strategy.

About You

• Degree-qualified with extensive experience in property leadership, ideally within the public sector.
• Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS).
• Strong track record in managing large property portfolios and leading complex transactions.
• Excellent financial, strategic, and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative leader with a focus on innovation, service quality, and continuous improvement.
