Transport Planner to join a growing and highly regarded transport planning consultancy in Manchester.
The role will sit within an established Development Planning team, working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the residential, commercial, retail, education and mixed-use sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment, with exposure to a wide range of clients and projects across the North West.
The Role
As a Transport Planner, you will be involved in delivering development planning projects from initial feasibility through to planning submission and determination.
Your responsibilities will include
- Preparing
Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans .
- Supporting the preparation of
Access Appraisals and Transport Planning Statements .
- Undertaking development-related transport analysis and assessment.
- Carrying out junction capacity modelling using software such as Junctions 9 and/or Lin Sig.
- Using
TRICS and TEMPro to support transport assessments and forecasting.
- Assisting with access and highway design, including
Swept Path Analysis .
- Supporting the development of transport strategies for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
- Liaising with clients, Local Authorities, Highways Officers and other project stakeholders.
- Attending meetings and contributing to project discussions.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business.
- Managing your own workload across multiple projects and deadlines.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience within development planning and be keen to continue developing their technical and consultancy skills.
You will ideally have
- Around
2+ years' experience within Transport Planning.
- Experience working within a consultancy environment.
- Strong development planning experience.
- Experience producing
Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans .
- Knowledge of
TRICS and TEMPro .
- Experience with
Junctions 9, ARCADY, PICADY and/or Lin Sig .
- An understanding of the UK planning and development process.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- A commercially aware and client-focused approach.
- A relevant degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Mathematics or a related discipline would be advantageous.
