The Opportunity

I am currently working with a leading UK planning and development consultancy that is looking to strengthen its London team with the appointment of a

Town Planner or Senior Town Planner .

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner looking to join a highly respected consultancy with an established reputation across the UK.

The business works across a broad range of sectors, including housing, mixed-use and regeneration, commercial, infrastructure, retail, energy and strategic development .

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced planning professionals on a varied portfolio of high-profile projects, providing the opportunity to develop technically, commercially and professionally.

The Role

As a Town Planner / Senior Town Planner, you will

  • Provide professional planning advice to a diverse range of clients.
  • Manage and contribute to planning applications and appeals.
  • Undertake planning policy and development appraisals.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of planning applications.
  • Research and interpret national and local planning policy.
  • Liaise with local planning authorities, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
  • Support the delivery of major development and regeneration projects.
  • Prepare planning reports, statements and representations.
  • Attend meetings with clients, planning authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Take increasing responsibility for managing projects and client relationships as your experience develops.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across different specialist teams.

About You

We are interested in speaking with planners at

Town Planner through to Senior Town Planner level who are looking for their next career move within the private sector.

Ideally, you will have

  • Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, developer or similar private-sector environment.
  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Experience working on planning applications and/or development projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an interest in developing client relationships.
  • MRTPI status, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous.
