Building Surveyor

Location:Cheshire |Salary:Up to £50,000 + benefits
Working Hours:9:00am–5:30pm

A fantastic opportunity for aBuilding Surveyorto join an established property and surveying team, working across a varied portfolio ofcommercial properties.

This is a client-facing role offering exposure tobuilding surveys, condition reports, dilapidations, schedules of condition, maintenance projects and contract administration, with excellent scope for professional development.

The Role

You will support the delivery of commercial building surveying and project work, including:

  • Building inspections and condition surveys
  • Schedules of condition and dilapidations
  • Preparation of specifications, reports and tender documentation
  • Maintenance and refurbishment projects
  • Contract administration and project monitoring
  • Reviewing contractor applications, variations and costs
  • Attending site meetings and liaising with clients, contractors and consultants
  • Ensuring works comply with relevant Building Regulations, legislation and standards
  • Maintaining accurate project records and producing high-quality reports

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent inBuilding Surveying, Construction or a related discipline
  • Previouscommercial building surveying or construction experience
  • Good knowledge of building technology, construction methods and Building Regulations
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Afull UK driving licence
  • RICS membership or a willingness to work towards it is desirable
  • CSCS or willingness to obtain one is desirable

Importantly, this is a commercial-focused role and is not a social housing or local authority surveying position.
