An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planner to join a growing transport planning consultancy in Birmingham. Working as part of an experienced and collaborative team, you'll be involved in delivering transport planning advice for a diverse range of development projects across the Midlands and wider UK.
This role offers the opportunity to work on residential, commercial, mixed-use, retail, logistics and industrial developments from initial feasibility through to planning approval, providing strategic transport advice to a varied client base.

The Role
- Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
- Produce Technical Notes and transport planning reports to support planning applications.
- Undertake trip generation, distribution and junction capacity assessments using industry-standard software.
- Analyse traffic and transport data to inform development proposals.
- Liaise with local authorities, clients, architects and the wider project team throughout the planning process.
- Assist with access appraisals and highway design considerations.
- Attend client meetings and contribute to project discussions.
- Support senior members of the team in delivering projects to programme and budget.
- Keep up to date with national planning policy and local transport guidance.
About You
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Geography or a related discipline.
- Around 1β5 years' experience within transport planning or highways consultancy.
- Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
- A good understanding of the UK planning system and development planning process.
- Experience using software such as Junctions 10, LinSig, TRICS and TEMPro (desirable).
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- A proactive approach with excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
