Our public sector client based in Sussex are searching for an Environmental Health Officer / Food Safety Officer to join their team on a contract basis from July 2026 to February 2027. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out approximately 100 food hygiene inspections (Category C, D, and E) in line with regulatory standards.
- Undertake inspections across the Mid Sussex district, primarily covering the area from Haywards Heath to East Grinstead.
- Conduct some inspections during evening hours where required.
- Ensure all inspections comply with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) Food Law Code of Practice.
- Accurately record findings, complete reports, and maintain compliance documentation.
- Manage allocated workload and complete inspections within agreed timeframes.
Required Experience
- Holds a Higher Certificate in Food Control (or equivalent relevant qualification).
- Demonstrates competency in line with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) Food Law Code of Practice.
