I'm currently supporting a client with the recruitment of a Housing Support Officer to join a busy supported accommodation service working with young people.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about empowering individuals to build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards greater independence.
Key duties include:
- Providing practical and emotional support to young people within supported accommodation
- Building positive relationships and encouraging engagement with education, employment, and personal goals
- Completing support, risk, and eligibility assessments for new referrals
- Assisting with move-ins, property readiness, and reducing void turnaround times
- Carrying out regular property visits and welfare checks
- Supporting residents to understand and meet occupancy expectations
- Working alongside external professionals and support services to achieve positive outcomes
- Maintaining accurate records, support notes, and tenancy-related documentation
Ideal candidate:
- Previous experience within housing, supported living, youth work, or a similar support setting xgikmsk
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to build rapport with vulnerable young people and encourage positive engagement
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a wider team
