Vivid’s client in the North West is looking for a Rent and Service Charge Accountant for 6 months. Overview: Manage and administer service charges for social housing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements. Establish and maintain procedures to calculate service charges in line with service charge policy. Project manage a single approach to service charges.Responsibilities: Prepare and calculate accurate service charge estimates and actuals. Ensure service charges comply with legislation and lease agreements. maintain detailed records of service charge accounts, transactions and reconciliations. Identify options to maximise service charge income collection whilst maintaining value for money. Develop annual service charge budgets. Monitor and report service charge expenditure, identifying variances. Provide regular financial forecasts. Oversee the issuance of service charge invoices. Be the main point of contact regarding service charge queries and disputes. Manage the Section 20 consultation process. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Prepare and issue Section 20 notices.
