We are seeking an experienced Senior Caseworker to join our Temporary Accommodation service in Somerset.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people to achieve stable housing and improved independence.

The Role

As a Senior Caseworker, you will manage a caseload of residents living in temporary accommodation, providing practical and person-centred support to help them address housing issues, access relevant services, and move on to suitable long-term accommodation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a caseload of residents within temporary accommodation.
  • Conduct needs and risk assessments and develop tailored support plans.
  • Support residents with housing, benefits, budgeting, and tenancy-related issues.
  • Liaise with local authorities, housing providers, health professionals, and support agencies.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure all documentation is completed to a high standard.
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure appropriate action is taken where concerns arise.
  • Support residents to develop independent living skills and achieve positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working within housing, homelessness, temporary accommodation, supported housing, or a similar support setting.
  • Experience managing complex cases and supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Good knowledge of housing and homelessness services.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Competent IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
