We are seeking an experienced Estates Surveyor to support the management of a diverse industrial property portfolio.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in landlord and tenant matters, lease management, and general estate management within either the public or private sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of predominantly industrial and commercial properties.
- Lead on landlord and tenant matters, including lease renewals, rent reviews, lease re-gears, assignments, licences to alter, and licences to assign.
- Negotiate and complete new leases in line with organisational objectives.
- Provide professional estates management advice to internal stakeholders.
- Manage lease events and ensure compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
- Instruct and manage external agents, solicitors, and valuers where required.
- Support the delivery of income generation and asset management initiatives.
- Maintain accurate property records and contribute to asset management systems.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior management where necessary.
Essential Requirements
- MRICS qualified (preferred) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Strong estates management experience with a focus on landlord and tenant matters.
- Proven experience negotiating new leases and managing industrial or commercial property portfolios.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of relevant property legislation and best practice.
- Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment is desirable.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently.
