Our client, a well-established and growing construction business, is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable contractor delivering a range of high-quality projects across the South West. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from inception through to final account, working within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

  • Managing the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects.
  • Preparing cost plans, valuations, and forecasts.
  • Procuring subcontractors and managing subcontract accounts.
  • Preparing and submitting applications for payment.
  • Managing variations and change control.
  • Producing cost reports and ensuring projects remain within budget.
  • Negotiating final accounts.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A full UK driving licence.
