Interim Fire Officer in Nottingham

We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Officer / Fire Safety Manager with a strong background across capital projects, estates, facilities management, and compliance within a complex property portfolio.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience delivering fire safety compliance across large and diverse estates portfolios.
• Strong understanding of fire safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
• Experience working on capital projects, ensuring fire strategies are developed, reviewed, and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
• Knowledge of building design, refurbishment, and construction projects, including fire-stopping, compartmentation, passive fire protection, and means of escape.
• Experience advising estates, facilities management, and project delivery teams on fire safety matters.
• Demonstrable experience managing Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and associated remedial works programmes.
• Ability to review and challenge fire strategies, technical drawings, and compliance documentation.
• Experience of contractor management and monitoring compliance standards across operational and project environments.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation including:
  • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
  • Building Regulations
  • Approved Document B
  • Building Safety Act
  • CDM Regulations

Desirable

• Local Authority, NHS, University, Housing Association, or wider public sector experience.
• NEBOSH Fire Certificate, Fire Risk Assessment Qualification, IFSM, IFE, or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Experience operating within a complex stakeholder environment and providing strategic fire safety advice to senior leadership teams
