We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support within the community. This role involves working with a diverse range of individuals, including elderly people, those with physical or learning disabilities, individuals with mental health needs, and families requiring additional support. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing, enabling service users and families to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred support tailored to individual and family needs and preferences
- Assist with personal care where required, including washing, dressing, and toileting
- Support with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, medication prompts, and light household duties
- Provide practical and emotional support to families, helping to maintain a stable and positive home environment
- Encourage and assist individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in social and developmental activities
- Support individuals with learning disabilities to build life skills, confidence, and independence
- Build positive and respectful relationships with service users and their families
- Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe and effective support
- Observe and report any changes in health, behaviour, or family circumstances
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care, support, or family support role is desirable but not essential
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and reliable with a commitment to delivering high standards of care
