We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support within the community. This role involves working with a diverse range of individuals, including elderly people, those with physical or learning disabilities, individuals with mental health needs, and families requiring additional support. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing, enabling service users and families to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support tailored to individual and family needs and preferences
  • Assist with personal care where required, including washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Support with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, medication prompts, and light household duties
  • Provide practical and emotional support to families, helping to maintain a stable and positive home environment
  • Encourage and assist individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in social and developmental activities
  • Support individuals with learning disabilities to build life skills, confidence, and independence
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with service users and their families
  • Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure safe and effective support
  • Observe and report any changes in health, behaviour, or family circumstances
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care, support, or family support role is desirable but not essential
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
