We are currently recruiting for an experienced Voids / Building Surveyor to join a busy public sector housing team, supporting the delivery of voids and repairs programmes across a residential portfolio. This role will involve carrying out surveys on void properties, specifying works, and managing contractors to ensure homes are returned to a lettable standard efficiently and in line with quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake void property inspections and Building Surveyor duties
- Diagnose defects and specify required works to bring properties up to standard
- Prepare schedules of works, specifications, and cost estimates
- Manage contractors on site, ensuring works are completed to time, cost, and quality standards
- Carry out post-inspections and sign off completed works
- Work closely with internal housing teams and stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience as a Voids Surveyor or Building Surveyor within a local authority, council, or housing association
- Strong knowledge of voids, repairs, and maintenance processes
- Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Building or similar)
- Experience managing contractors and overseeing multiple properties
- Full UK Driving Licence
