The role covers a broad mix of property work, and will suit someone who can take on a live portfolio and add value from the outset. The successful candidate will handle day-to-day general practice matters across a range of property types. That includes lease events such as rent reviews, lease renewals and lettings, as well as valuations, acquisitions and disposals and ongoing management advice for clients. The work calls for sound commercial judgement and a clear understanding of how each instruction fits the client's wider aims. The General Practice Surveyor will work closely with colleagues across the business, and with clients, tenants, agents and solicitors. Clear communication, accurate reporting and a well-organised approach to casework are central to the role. Main responsibilitiesManage a portfolio of general practice instructions across a range of property typesAdvise on and negotiate rent reviews, lease renewals, lettings and other lease eventsCarry out inspections, measurements and appraisals, and prepare valuations and reportsSupport acquisitions, disposals and other transactions, including marketing and negotiationProvide advice to clients on asset management and the performance of their propertiesLiaise with tenants, landlords, agents, solicitors and other professional advisersPrepare clear client reports, recommendations and supporting documentationKeep case records, property data and client information accurate and up to dateWork with colleagues across the business to deliver instructions on time and to the required standardRequirementsExperience as a General Practice Surveyor within a property advisory or agency settingWorking knowledge of lease events, including rent reviews, lease renewals and lettingsUnderstanding of commercial property valuation and market practiceExperience of managing a varied caseload and meeting client deadlinesStrong negotiation, written and verbal communication skillsGood commercial awareness and attention to detailAble to work independently and as part of a teamAble to start at short notice and contribute from the outsetQualification or progress towards RICS membership, to be confirmed with the clientThe offerThis is an interim position based in London.
