We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Extra Care Scheme Housing Officer to support residents within an Extra Care housing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring residents can maintain their independence while living in a safe, well-managed, and supportive community. This is a varied role involving tenancy management, resident support, safeguarding, and partnership working with care providers and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage tenancy sign‑ups, tenancy sustainment, and resident onboarding.
- Conduct regular welfare and scheme visits to residents.
- Support residents with Housing Benefit and other tenancy-related matters.
- Monitor rent accounts and proactively manage arrears cases.
- Liaise with appointees, deputies, family members, and support agencies where appropriate.
- Respond to and elevate repair and maintenance issues.
- Manage Anti‑Social Behaviour (ASB) cases in line with policies and procedures.
- Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and resident wellbeing.
- Work closely with care providers, contractors, and partner agencies to deliver a high‑quality service.
- Support void management processes, ensuring empty properties are ready to let quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure health & safety and compliance standards are maintained across the scheme.
About You
- Previous experience within housing management, supported housing, or extra care housing.
- Knowledge of Housing Benefit, tenancy management, and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience managing rent arrears, ASB, and resident support cases.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
- Flexible, proactive, and resident‑focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if required).
