The Opportunity
We are currently supporting a local authority in the West Midlands region in the search for an experienced Interim Waste Services Improvement & Operational Resilience Consultant to lead service transformation, operational improvement initiatives, and support the delivery of a resilient and high-performing waste operations function.
This is a key assignment for an experienced consultant or interim manager with a strong background in waste services, operational performance, transformation programmes, and service redesign within local government or a similar operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational reviews and improvement initiatives across waste services.
- Identify efficiencies, service enhancements, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and implement operational resilience plans.
- Support transformation programmes and cultural change initiatives.
- Review service performance, KPIs, and operational processes.
- Engage with senior stakeholders and operational teams to drive improvement.
- Ensure service continuity whilst delivering change programmes.
- Provide strategic and hands-on support across waste operations.
About You
We are looking for professionals who can demonstrate
- Significant experience within Waste Management, Environmental Services, or Local Authority Operations.
- Proven track record of delivering transformation and service improvement programmes.
- Strong operational management and performance improvement experience.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
- Experience working within politically sensitive environments.
- Ability to quickly assess challenges and implement practical solutions.
